William Kevin ‘Bill’ Halford

William Kevin “Bill” Halford died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Merit-Health River Region Medical Center after a short illness. He was 56.

Born in Vicksburg, Bill was the son of the late James M. and Margaret Jenne Halford, and attended St. Aloysius High School.

After beginning his career at LeTourneau, he went to work for Waterways Experiment Station, where he spent more than 20 years as a computer specialist for the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory and the Sediment Transport Facility.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Edward Halford.

Survivors include two brothers, James L. “Jimmy” Halford and his wife, Mary Dee, of Vicksburg, and his twin brother, Matthew G. “Matt” Halford of Corpus Christi, Texas; two nieces, Mary Margaret Halford of Vicksburg and Maydson K. Halford of Houston, Texas; two nephews, James A. “Jimbo” Halford of Vicksburg and Matthew G. Halford Jr. of Corpus Christi; and numerous cousins.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Vicksburg.

Visitation will also be at the church Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
