Abdur-Razzaaq, Lassiter marry

Miss Elyssa Morganette Lassiter of Vicksburg and Haneef Abdur-Razzaaq of Weatherford Texas were married at 5 p.m. June 4, 2016, at Travelers Rest Church in Vicksburg.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Ethel Minett Lassiter of Vicksburg.
She is the granddaughter of the late Rev. Dr. Wright Lowenstein Lassiter Sr. and the late Ethel Lee Franklin Lassiter.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samad Abdur-Razzaaq of Fort Worth, Texas.
He is the grandson of the late Tommy Massey, the late Mrs. Evelyn Gibson Massey, the late William P. Thornton and the late Mrs. Willie D. Thornton Boykin.
The Rev. Dr. Hickman M. Johnson officiated the ceremony.
The bride’s chosen color was sunflower yellow.
Musicians were Mrs. Shirley Harris, pianist; Christopher A. Leach, saxophonist; Mrs. Trenisha D. Hobson, flutist and Ms. Melanie Sanders and Mr. Dexter Howard, Jr. vocalist.
Ms. Liz Lassiter served as the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Ms. Ryan Simone Ewell, Ms. Loren Jenae Lassiter, Mrs. Angel Bridges, Ms. Jasmine Octavia Patrice Brown, Mrs. Latia Carson, Ms. Amanda Fitzpatrick, Ms. Angelic Starr Keels, Venese M. Morgan, J.D., Ms. Shannon Louise Price and Ms. Lakevion Trotter.
Honorary bridesmaid was Ms. Byrhonda Gisele Lyons.
Junior bridesmaids were Miss Amira Abdur-Razzaaq, Miss Imani Abdur-Razzaaq, Miss Chloe Marie Troutman, Miss Shelby Olivia Williams and Miss Destiny Yoakum.
Flower girls were Miss Selena Starr Keels, Miss Denea Ann Smith and Miss Tenea Marie Smith.
Mr. Samad Ibn Abdur-Razzaaq and Mr. Yusef Abdur-Razzaaq served as best men.
Groomsmen were Mr. Conner Francis and Mr. Bailey Hinkle.
Bible carriers were Master Charles Lee Troutman, III and Master Clayton Leonard Troutman.
Honorary attendants were Ms. Chloee’ A. Bello, Ms. Freda D. Clark, Mrs. Theresa Silva Delgado, Mr. Michael T.K. Hatchett, Ms. Sa’Shia Ikie Jones, Ms. Jemela McKinzy, Ms. Marissa Moffett and Mrs. Merliner Bradley.
A reception was held at the B’nai B’rith Literary Association and hostesses included Mrs. Joyce Bright, Mrs. Santa Carpenter, Mrs. Lisa McGowan and Ms. Tammy Hatchett.
For a wedding trip the couple traveled to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The couple will make their home in the Norfolk, Va., area, where the bride is employed as a communication professor and television producer and the groom is an Aviation Ordnanceman Third Class in the U. S. Navy.
