Todd H. Riddle

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Todd H. Riddle, 90 years old, passed away peacefully at home Dec. 19, 2016, surrounded by family members.
He was born in Clearwater, Fla., raised in Columbus, Ohio, and spent the last 20 years of his life in South Jordan, Utah. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School and was then drafted into military service in 1944.
Todd served in the 311th Infantry Division, “C” Company, and was honorably discharged in 1946. Afterward, he attended OSU and earned a master’s degree in geological engineering.
Professionally, Todd was assigned to the far corners of the world: Alaska, Egypt, Ecuador and the Sudan, where he mapped road routes and laid out airstrips. He carried this love of travel and history throughout his life. His hobbies included camping, reading, golf, football and shooting sports. He was an accomplished marksman and firearms trainer.
Todd is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Sterling Riddle and Dorothy Emily Todd; wives, Sarah Virginia Whaley and Audrey Bailey Cox.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer, Michael, Craig, Lani, Fred, Randy and Scott; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to caregivers Sonia and Otavio, who provided loving care over the last year and to family and friends who kept Todd in their hearts and prayers.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at 9 a.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 8 to 8:45 a.m.
Interment will be Ephraim Park Cemetery, Ephraim, Utah.
