Alma Lou Weissinger

Alma Lou Weissinger (nee’ Warnock) died peacefully in Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 22, 2016, at the age of 89 years and 1 day.
Alma Lou is survived by her eldest son, Thomas Hansford Weissinger of Mississippi; daughter-in-law, Julia Eargle Weissinger of Knoxville, Tenn., and her daughter Lisa and husband Nathan D. Benn of Raleigh, N.C.
She is also survived by her grandson, Matthew Weissinger and his wife Amanda; granddaughter, Rebecca Weissinger Arab and her husband Paul; grandsons Benjamin Weissinger, Nathan Benn II and Neil Benn; and five great-grandchildren.
Alma Lou is preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. (Bubber) Weissinger of Vicksburg; and Harry M. Weissinger III of Knoxville, Tenn.
Alma Lou was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Yazoo County to James and Lucille Warnock. She graduated from Rolling Fork High School and attended Belhaven College in Jackson.
She married Bubber Weissinger on Feb. 15, 1948, and moved to Rolling Fork. After moving to Rolling Fork, Alma Lou worked at the Cary Post Office.
She then moved to Vicksburg, where she began working as a librarian and Title 1 clerk for the Warren County School System. She completed her work history as a receptionist at The Street Clinic in Vicksburg.
A funeral is scheduled for noon at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Vicksburg with a reception to follow.
Visitation will precede the funeral at 10 a.m. at the church. Deacon Josie Williams will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alma Lou Weissinger’s life.
