In the past few weeks, Vicksburg and Warren County have seen wide variations of weather, from high temperatures in the 70s and 80s, lows in the low 20s, and severe thunderstorms and high winds in between.
Now, the area faces the possibility of seeing snow.
According to the National Weather Service forecast for the weekend, the area has a 20 percent chance of light rain with a slight chance of light snow to go with low temperatures in the low 30s Friday night.
The Saturday forecast calls a 20 percent chance of light rain or snow in the morning before the sun comes out and warms the area with temperatures in the upper 40s.
“There is a small chance for some snow probably Friday night and Saturday, probably around I-20 and north,” said Latrice Maxey, National Weather Service meteorologist.
She said the chances for any accumulation of snow is slight, however.
“It will get you a little dusting on your rooftop,” she said. “There may be some rain and then it transitions to snow before it stops.”
