Perry B. Pittman died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Forest Hill Nursing Center in Jackson. He was 55.

Perry was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg, where he was formerly employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers mat-sinking unit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie L. and Bessie Elaine Gunter Pittman.

Survivors include his son, Travis James Pittman; two sisters, Peggy Boyd of Terry and Paula P. Jones of Vicksburg; one brother, Lendy Varner of Brenham, Texas; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with Eddie King officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.
