Frank Jerome Weaver

Frank Jerome Weaver died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017. He was 84.

Mr. Weaver was born in New Orleans on Sept. 30, 1932, to the late William Harry and Carmelite Becker Weaver. He was a 1950 graduate of Holy Cross High School of New Orleans.

He graduated with a degree in civil engineering from Louisiana State University in 1955 and earned his master’s degree in geotechnical engineering from Harvard University in 1968.

He has been a resident of Vicksburg since 1960.  Mr. Weaver retired as chief of the Soils and Materials Branch of the Mississippi River Commission. He was a registered professional engineer in Louisiana and Mississippi, and a past president of the American Society of Civil Engineering and a member of the LSU Alumni Association. He was also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by four sisters, Miriam Weaver Mix, Shirley W. Babin, Carmelite Weaver Reppel, all of New Orleans, and Nathalie Weaver Roig of Houston, Texas; and two brothers, Emile Weaver and William “Bill” Weaver, both of New Orleans.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna Marie Reynolds Weaver; a daughter, Sharon Weaver Deyoe (R. Scott) of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sons Michael J. Weaver (Evelyn) and Frank J. Weaver II (Marcia), both of Vicksburg; and a sister, Myrtle Weaver Allen of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Whitney  A. Deyoe, Marianna L.  Deyoe, Julia S.  Deyoe, John D. Weaver, Courtney W. Warnock and Sean M. Weaver; five great-grandchildren, Daniel Deyoe Thompson, Katie Warnock, Karley Warnock, Emory Weaver, and Luke Weaver.

A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Tom Lalor officiating.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home, and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Interment will be at Green Lawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Deyoe, Drew Warnock, Sean Weaver, John Weaver, Curtis Buford, and Marion Love.
