Traffic in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 was shut down for more then five hours Monday after an 18-wheeler overturned Monday morning near the Big Black River bridge at the Hinds County line.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Trooper Eric Henry said the wreck occurred about 6:47 a.m. Monday when the driver of the truck fell asleep and then overcorrected his truck and overturned the trailer. There were no injuries.

The lanes were reopened to traffic by early afternoon.
