Clear Creek Ladies report

On Wednesday the Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association played its first round of individual stroke play of the year. The Flight A winner was Linda McHann.Martha Masterson won Flight B and Dinah Lazor Flight C. Linda McHann had the best putting score. Joyce Johnson and Connie Kegerreis made chip-ins.

Paws Rescue golf tourney

Paws Rescue’s “Golf 4 Paws” charity golf tournament will be held April 21 at 9 a.m. Clear Creek Golf Course in Bovina. The tournament is a four-person scramble, and the entry fee is $70 per person or $280 per team. In addition to the golf, a live and silent auction will be held, lunch will be provided and awards given.

All proceeds go toward expenses for the animals in the care of Paws Rescue. Donations of cash, cat food and dog food are welcome at the tournament.

WC basketball tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s varsity girls basketball team are scheduled for March 27-31 in Gym A at Warren Central High School. Tryouts for the ninth-grade team will be held April 3-7.

Players must attend each day of the tryout, and must have completed physical, clearance, concussion and residency forms, as well as a current physical. All forms are available at the main office of Warren Central High School, WC Junior High and the Academy of Innovation.

VSO Spring Jamboree

The Vicksburg Soccer Organization will host its Spring Jamboree tournament April 1 and 2 at the Bovina Soccer Complex. The tournament is open to boys and girls teams in the U8-U16 age divisions at the Division II and III skill levels. The registration fee ranges from $150 for U8 teams to $300 for U16 teams.

Volunteers are also needed to help with tournament operations

Bubba Mims golf tournament

Porters Chapel Academy will host the 13th annual Bubba Mims Memorial Golf Classic April 26 at Vicksburg Country Club. The event is a four-man scramble and will begin with lunch at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The entry fee is $395 per four-man team. All proceeds benefit Porters Chapel Academy. For more information, call Mark Buys at 601-636-3752.

Adult softball league

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s adult men’s and women’s softball leagues will continue through April 17. Registration packets can be picked up at the Parks and Rec office at 100 Army-Navy Drive. The fee is $175 per team, with a $10 fee for Warren County residents and a $20 fee for players from Sharkey, Issaquena, Claiborne, and Hinds counties.
