Butler Camp registration

Registration for the third annual Malcolm Butler Football Camp is now open and will continue through May 1.
The camp is for boys in grades 8-12, and will be held July 15 at Memorial Stadium. The camp is free, but participation is limited and early registration is encouraged. Registration is available online only, at malcolmbutlerfootballcamp.org.

The camp will include instruction from New England Patriots cornerback and former Vicksburg High star Malcolm Butler and the Vicksburg High School football coaching staff.

Clear Creek Ladies report

On Wednesday, Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association members met for individual play. The Flight A winner was Linda McHann. Emily Bonelli won Flight B, and Lynn Case won Flight C.

Chip-ins were made by Bonelli, Joyce Johnson and Mary May. Laura Lee logged the overall lowest putting score.

WC basketball tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s boys basketball team will be held May 15-19 in Gym A. All participants must have a current physical and parental consent form. For more information, email coach Bruce Robinson at brobinson@vwsd.org

WC soccer tryouts

Trouts for Warren Central’s boys soccer team will be held May 8 and 9, on the front field adjacent to Mississippi 27 at Warren Central High School, at 4 p.m. each day. The tryouts are open to players in grades 7-12.

All participants must have a current physical, a parental consent form, and must wear shinguards. All participants must also sign up at the front soccer field on May 5 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. to get the necessary paperwork.

Learn to Swim registration

Registration for the 2017 American Red Cross Learn to Swim program will be held at City Pool, May 17-19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and May 20 from 10 a.m. until noon.

The program is for all ages, from 3 years old to adults, and the cost is $12 per student per two-week session. The sessions will run from June 5-16, June 26-July 8, July 17-28, and the times of each class vary by age. Classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bubba Mims golf tourney

Porters Chapel Academy will host the 13th annual Bubba Mims Memorial Golf Classic April 26 at 1 p.m. at Vicksburg Country Club.
