Milton Moore named chief of VPD, Danczyk promoted to fire chief

Vicksburg Police Captain Milton Moore was promoted to chief of the Vicksburg Police Department during Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of Mayor and Alderman.

Moore replaces Walter Armstrong.

Moore is a veteran of the US Navy and served during Desert Storm in 1991.

Bobby Stewart and Eric Paymon will serve as deputy chiefs.

During Tuesday’s meeting, current deputy fire chief Craig Danczyk was promoted to fire chief replacing Charles Atkins. Derreck Stamps and Trey Martin will serve as deputy chiefs.
