Lady Thunder loses in AAU Nationals

The River City Lady Thunder got through one game in the elimination round of the AAU girls basketball National Championships in Atlanta, but had their weekend cut short with a four-point loss to Adidas Elite in the second round.
The Lady Thunder — a Vicksburg-based all-star team — won two of its three games in pool play and then cruised in the opener of the 64-team elimination round by beating the Memphis Dragons 49-16.
Yakia Burns led the Lady Thunder with 15 points and six assists against the Dragons, while Nature Hall, Daijia Reed, and Kemari Smith added eight points apiece. Zykeria Segrest had four points eight rebounds.
