For the second year in a row, Alcorn State’s softball team will play in Vicksburg.

The Lady Braves will play four games at Vicksburg High’s softball swamp field in February, the school announced Wednesday.

Alcorn will play a doubleheader against Spring Hill College on Feb. 14 at 4 p.m., and then another doubleheader against Kentucky State on Feb. 15 beginning at 5:15 p.m.

The extended stay marks an expansion on last year’s one-day homestand in Vicksburg. Alcorn opened the 2017 season last February with a doubleheader against Kentucky State.

After the doubleheaders in Vicksburg next season, Alcorn will return to Lorman to play its on-campus home opener against Rust College on Feb. 17.

Alcorn’s season opener is Feb. 13 at Southern Miss. It will also play in tournaments at Louisiana Tech and Mississippi State early in the 2018 season.
