LORMAN (AP) — James Tabary hit Kent Shelby on a 33-yard touchdown pass with 26 seconds remaining in the game to give McNeese State a 34-27 victory over Alcorn State on Saturday night.

McNeese (2-1), which is 12-0 all-time against Southwestern Athletic Conference teams, led most of the way but Lenorris Footman hit De’Lance Turner in stride for a 70-yard touchdown pass to tie it at 27-27 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Tabary was intercepted on the next series and McNeese’s Calum Foster returned the favor, picking off Footman as the Braves were driving. Neither team could mount another drive until Tabary took the Cowboys 62 yards in four plays to seal the win.
