Annoying telemarketer calls may soon be a thing of the past in Mississippi.
The Mississippi Public Service Commission has created a new app that will allow users to completely block any constant telemarketer callers and file a complaint on illegal callers as well.
The app, “MS No-Call,” was created by the Public Service Commission and has been long awaited. The app will allow phone users to easily register cell phones and landlines onto the Mississippi No Call list.
According to the Public Service Commission, this list is one of telephone numbers from Mississippi residents who wish to limit telephone calls from telemarketers.
The application allows users to file complaints against telemarketer callers directly from a cellphone while also removing the phone number affected from the telemarketers call list.
The app is extremely easy to access and to do so users simply need to open the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and type in “MS No- Call,” once the free application appears and download the app, according to a press release from the Public Service Commission.
After downloading the application, users should select “file a complaint” on the home screen, enter the affected telephone number along with the telemarketers phone number.
Next, answer questions inside of the app about the telemarketer. For instance, has the telemarketer contacted the phone through a call or a text and what is the product or organization that the telemarketer is advertising.
Lastly, answer a few more questions on the app of different subjects and telemarketer calls should be a thing of the past for that specific phone number, according to the commission.
The application was released Nov. 1 and is available to all cell phone brands.
The Public Service Commission hopes that Mississippi residents take a stand against telemarketers and download the MS No-Call app and use it.
