The Rev. Johnnie L. Brown died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Merit Health River Region. He was 72.

He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. David Brown Sr.; his grandparents, Governor and Arie Brown, Laura Benson and Mary Hays; his sister, Mattie Brown; and brother, Isaac Brown.

He is survived by his mother, Ruby Hays Brown; his wife, Loraine Brown of Vicksburg; four daughters, Deloris (Jimmie) Washington Newman of Winona, Mariea Brown, Sandra Brown, and Lawanda Brown, all of Vicksburg; one son, Johnny L. Brown Jr.; and one stepson, Anthony Jones, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Minister Georgia Brown of Vicksburg and Betty (Johnnie) Davis of Detroit, Mich.; four brothers, the Rev. David Brown, the Rev. Joseph (Gail) Brown, Casey (Gertrude) Brown, and Christopher (Veronica) Brown; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with Bishop Joseph Henry officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
