Vicksburg Police seek man in connection with sexual assault

Vicksburg police are looking for a man wanted in connection with the reported Monday afternoon sexual assault of a woman in the area of Grove and First North streets.
According to police reports, officers responding to a call about a sexual assault at Merit Health River Region said a women told them she was walking home from a convenience store when a short man with scruffy-looking hair wearing a fleece hoody and dark colored jeans pulled down, assaulted her and ran.
The case remains under investigation.

In other cases:
• Vicksburg police have recovered a 6-by-12 covered trailer reported taken Monday from a storage shed at Crossway Church, 1825 U.S. 61 South, Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.
The theft was reported about 8:42 a.m. Monday. Also reported taken was a Massey Ferguson tractor, hand tools, an air compressor, generator, welding machine, miter saw, chop saw, flashlights and a tool box.
The trailer was found in a wooded area south of the church. Edwards said some of the hand tools have also been recovered.
• Oscar Christopher McNeil was arrested about 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Vicksburg Police Department on a charge of possession and sale or transfer of a stolen firearm.
• John Frederick Dolley was arrested about 8:51 a.m. Wednesday at the Vicksburg Police Department on a charge of contempt of court for failing to report for community service.
• Fred Stacey Lynn was arrested Wednesday in the 500 block of Berryman Road on a charge of contempt of court.
• Caroline Carter Robinson, 54, was arrested Tuesday about 2:38 a.m. in the 4100 block of Washington Street on a charge of driving with an expired or no driver’s license.
• Denise Lashay Kemper, 35, was arrested Monday about 9:29 p.m. Monday on a charge of harassing telephone calls — indecent.
• Antonio Valdez Smith, 35, was arrested Monday about 7:45 p.m. on charges of simple assault creating fear, two counts of disorderly conduct — failure to comply and three counts of disorderly conduct — interfering with a customer.
• Roland Rayshad Scott, 25, was arrested Monday about 2:42 p.m. on charges from another jurisdiction.
• Charles Eugene Williams, 58, was served two warrants Monday about 3:19 p.m.
• Kredrick Dontia Hughes, 35, was arrested Monday about 2:37 p.m., on charges of speeding, expired or no driver’s license, no proof of insurance, seatbelt violation child restraint violation.
• James Robert Reynolds, 29, was served two warrants Monday about 12:15 p.m.
• Demetric Miguel Dillon, 24, was served three warrants Monday about 12:30 p.m.
• Cynthia Denise Bentley, 40, was served a warrant Monday about 11:36 a.m.
• James Floyd O’Neal, 60, was served a warrant Monday about 11:13 a.m.
• Louis Gaskin, 60, was arrested Monday about 9:49 a.m. on charges from another jurisdiction and speeding.
• Kortney Renee Jackson, 28, was arrested Monday about 2:20 a.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct.

• 3:11 p.m., 1000 block of Clay Street, simple assault creating fear.
• 12:24 p.m., 3400 block of Halls Ferry Road, shoplifting.
