Carie Sue “Biscuit” Franklin

PALATKA, Fla. — Carie Sue “Biscuit” Franklin, 47, of Palatka, passed suddenly from this life and to her heavenly father at Putnam Community Medical Center Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017.
Born in Chillicothe, Ohio, Carie moved to Florida when she was 11 years old from Ohio. She had been a resident of Putnam County for over 30 years.
As a teenager and young adult, Carie worked for Miller Enterprises and then moved into banking at Mercantile Bank. “Biscuit” then worked as the manager for Dean’s Still for over 10 years.
She was a member of Palatka Moose Lodge No. 184 and the American Poolplayers Association. Above all else, Carie loved her family and especially time spent with her grandkids.
Carie is survived by her husband of 17 years, William A. Franklin; her children, Mary E. Lasley (George) and James M. Kirk; her mother, Sheila R. Jones; four grandchildren, George J. Lasley, Dylan M. Kirk, Malyssa L. Kelly and Larry D. Kelly III and their father, Larry D. Kelly Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Steven D. Franklin and Mark J. Franklin (Kathy); and several aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Oak Hill West Cemetery in Palatka.
The Women of Moose Lodge No. 184 will also conduct respective Moose honors.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
