Open casting call set for Civil War-era film

Running Wild Films will be holding an open casting call for anyone interested in auditioning for their upcoming film, “Son of a Gun.”
Based on a tall tale that took place during the Civil War, co-founder of the company Travis Mills said they would be looking for almost all ages, men and women, Caucasian and African American.
“And we will be looking for both lead and supporting characters,” Mills said, adding that he is planning on doing as much of the filming in the Vicksburg area as he can.
The casting call will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, at the Strand Theatre, 717 Clay St.
“If you have a headshot and or resume, you can bring it, but it is not required for the audition,” Mills said.
Because Running Wild Films works on a low budget, some of the principle cast will be paid, providing the final budge allows, Mills said, but not all roles will be compensated.
“Please do not audition if pay is a necessity,” he said.
“Son of a Gun” could be described as a comedy film with touches of tragedy, Mills said and is based on the “mini ball pregnancy.”
