Frank Carlton Nelson

MADISON — Frank Carlton Nelson, 74 years old, passed away at his home in Madison Jan. 25, 2018.
Frank was born July 21, 1943, in Vicksburg. He was the son of the late Hilda Biedenharn Nelson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Pat Gunter Nelson; his daughter, Heather Ragan and son-in-law Keith; and two grandchildren, Ryder and Hartley Ragan of Brandon, along with his sister, Nancy Bacon of San Antonio, Texas.
Frank served active duty in the Naval Reserve and was stationed in Charleston, S.C. After his discharge, he was employed with Motorola Communications until he retired.
Frank was a life member of the Commerative Air Force. He had a passion for flying his North American AT-6 Texan and his J-3 Cub in airshows. He also loved riding his motorcycle through the hill country of Texas. He loved life and he lived it to the fullest.
Franks lifelong dream was to live in Texas. He fulfilled his dream after his retirement. He and Pat moved to Fredericksburg, Texas where they lived for 17 years. Due to Franks health concerns, they moved to Madison to be close to their daughter and family.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Franks caregiver, Phillip Coleman, Dr. Lyssa Weatherly and the staff at Compasses Hospice, especially Ashley Cox.
The family will gather privately after the inurnment.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Frank’s humor will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Burial took place at the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison.
