The threat of severe weather Saturday has caused the Vicksburg Mardi Gras parade to be rescheduled to Monday at 5:30 and officials are advising the hazardous weather could continue into Sunday.

Warren County Emergency Management Director John Elfer said Friday heaving rain and isolated severe storms are possible.

“Especially Saturday afternoon and into Sunday,” Elfer said. “Isolated tornadoes can’t be totally ruled out.”

According to Elfer, the area most likely for the strongest storms is along and south of the I-20 corridor.

“We encourage everyone to pay attention to local forecasts and ensure that your alert systems are in place and working,” Elfer said.
