John “Johnny” Lewis Holt

TALLULAH, La. — John “Johnny” Lewis Holt of Tallulah fulfilled his life commitment of 70 years to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 9, 2018.
He was born in Delhi, La., on Dec. 31, 1947, and raised in Lake Providence, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Lewis and Florence Bonner Holt; and infant brothers, James Westbrook Holt and William Travis Holt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jan Townsend Holt; daughter, Julie Holt Simpson and husband Michael Simpson of Knoxville, Tenn., daughter, Jill Holt Reese of Tallulah; son, John Jason Holt and wife Anna Wong of Covington, La.; seven grandchildren, Hillary Pearson, Thomas Pearson, Ellie Simpson, Wyatt Reese, Madeleine Reese, Cam Holt and Harrison Holt; brother, Bobby Holt and wife Kathy Holt of Lake Providence; and sister, Evelyn Claire Holt of Baton Rouge, La.
The family would like to thank the Pat Summitt Alzheimer’s Clinic at the University of Tennessee Medical Center; Dr. Monica Crane; Dr. Pops Neumann; Dr. Tommy Neumann; the wonderful, caring staff at Crossroads Hospice; and caregiver, Steve Knight.
A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at First United Methodist Church in Tallulah.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Johnny’s life at either church.
