Allen Franklin Holmes died Feb. 3, 2018, in Havre De Grace, Md. He was 64.

Mr. Holmes retired from the US Military, where he received numerous awards, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Services Ribbon, Professional Development Ribbon, Marksman Badge and Expert Badge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Holmes Sr. and Juanitia Reed Holmes; sister, Linda Jones; and niece, Becky Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory 10 children, Anita Holmes Hunt, Allen F. Holmes III, Chanay M. Holmes, Jamail T. Holmes, Terrance A. Holmes, Michael L. Holmes, Jamar L. Holmes, Darnell T. Holmes, Mandisa L. Holmes and Asherah A. Holmes; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a host of family members and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, 2 p.m. at Greater Grove Street Baptist Church; repose in the church for 1 p.m. with Dr. Casey Fisher officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at C J Williams Mortuary Services.
