WC golf tournament

Warren Central’s golf team will host the Fairways Club 4-Man Scramble Feb. 24 at 12:30 p.m. at Clear Creek Golf Course. The four-person scramble is a fundraiser for WC golf team and booster club.

The entry fee is $300 per team, or $75 for individuals. Hole, corporate and title sponsorships are also available.

There will be prizes awarded for a hole-in-one, longest drive and closest to the pin.

Clear Creek Ladies kickoff

The Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association will hold its 2018 season kickoff and registration on Feb. 24, at the Clear Creek Golf Course clubhouse. Registration begins at 10 a.m. The CCLGA is open to lady golfers of all skill levels.

Run Thru History

Registration is now open for the 39th annual Run Thru History, a 10-kilometer run and 5-kilometer race walk in the Vicksburg National Military Park. The race is scheduled for March 3 at 8 a.m.

The entry fee is $25 for the run and walk. The children’s 1-mile fun run that follows those events is free. There is also a 10K team event for five-person teams and the Cannon Ball Challenge for elementary school classes.

Registration is available online at runthruhistory.org, or at the Purks YMCA. Corporate and civic teams are also welcome.

WC volleyball tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s varsity volleyball team will be held March 29-30 at Warren Central High School. All players must have a current physical, parental permission form, residency form and a concussion form, and attend both days of the tryouts.

There will be a meeting for parents of all prospective players on March 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Warren Central library.

Zeke West Bass Tournament

The 10th Annual Zeke West Team Bass Tournament is set for March 3 at Lake Bruin State Park, from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The registration fee is $100 per boat, with an optional big bass entry fee of $10 per person. First place is a guaranteed $1,500 prize. All fishermen will be fed after the tournament and door prizes awarded. Fishermen are required to have live wells and running lights inspected.
