ARCOLA — Funeral services for Carole Ann Tolliver Ray, 77, of Arcola will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at Boone Funeral Home Chapel in Hollandale.

She passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21.

Burial will be in the Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home in Greenville.

Carole was born in Marked Tree, Ark., and moved to Hollandale at a young age.  She was a 1959 graduate of Hollandale High School and attended Delta State University. She was secretary for Gene Woodruff for many years. After taking some time off to raise her four daughters, she went back to work, working for the Mississippi Extension Service.  She was an active 4-H leader for many years.  Her 4-H programs included livestock, shooting sports, cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George William Ray in 2008; her parents, Ruth and Floyd Tolliver of Hollandale; and by her brother, Byral “Buddy” Tolliver.

She is survived by her four daughters, Bethany (Billy) Taylor of Marks, Kearney Ray of Lafayette, La., Miranda (Andrew) McCaskill of Vicksburg and Lelane (David) Higgins of Madison; two sisters, Paula Tolliver Sims and Jeanine (Jerry) Williams; brother, William (Tammy) Tolliver; and sister-in-law, Louise Tolliver; four grandchildren, Serena (Greg) Taylor of Merigold, Ross (Anne Marie) Taylor of Rolling Fork, Matthew Taylor of Marks and Lucy McCaskill of Vicksburg; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Ford and Finn Taylor, all of Merigold.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Grace Hospice and all of the wonderful staff at Washington Care Center.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at Boone Chapel in Hollandale.

Pallbearers will be Andrew McCaskill, Ross Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Greg Taylor, David Higgins, William McNemar, Tim Johnston and Dan McCaskill.
