James W. Shoops

James W. Shoops passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018. He was 94 years old.

Mr. Shoops was born in Collins, Ark. He lived in Cleveland until moving to Vicksburg in the 1950s.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as the parts manager at Miss-Lou Equipment Company.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Renza Shoops,; two brothers, Winfred Shoops and Richard Shoops; a sister, Shirley Sasser; and a great-grandchild.

He is survived by his son, Rick Shoops (Myra); a daughter, Pam Barnes (Harry); a brother, Raymond Shoops; sisters, Lelia VanLandingham and Jean McGrew; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland with the Rev. Scott Sasser officiating.

Pallbearers were Larry Shoops, Wesley Barnes, A.J. Barnes, Richard Anthony, Reef Anthony, Morgan Anthony, Landon Barnes and Matthew Barnes.
