ANGUILLA — Funeral services for Mattie Lucille Parish, 86, of Anguilla will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Boone Chapel, Hollandale.

She passed away March 10, 2018, at Sharkey Issaquena Community Hospital.

Burial will be in Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

She was born May 30, 1931, in Delta City. She graduated high school at Delta City. Mattie attended secretarial school in Dallas, Texas. After graduation, she was the personal secretary for the base commander of Columbus AFB. She retired from FHA after 32 years. She worked 25 years for Sharkey Issaquena Community Hospital.  She was an avid sports fan and a strong supporter of Ole Miss.  Mattie attended Anguilla Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Alice Parish and her sister, Betty Stevens.

She is survived by her sister, Carol Sue Wilson; nieces, Cindy McKay (Clifton) and Melanie Wilson Hodges (David).

There will be a visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Boone Chapel, Hollandale. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Pallbearers are David Hodges Jr., Wilson David Hodges, Joseph Richard Stevens, Clifton McKay, Jerry Keever and Ronald S. Hargrave.

The honorary pallbearers are Billy Paul Hargrave, Russel Stegall Jr., Dan Conrad, Thomas Brunson and John Picciola.
