Kay L. Emerson, 83, of Hattiesburg passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at Heritage House in Vicksburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 16, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with visitation being held prior from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Roseland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Emerson was a member of St. Thomas where she made many fond friendships and memories. She was a retired teacher for the Forrest County School District after 21 years of teaching.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip E. Emerson; her father, Lt. Ellwood W. Lewis Jr., USNR, who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery along with his wife, Anne J. Lewis.
She is survived by three children, Daniel Philip Emerson (Pam), Susan Emerson Kendall (Tom), and Bradford Ellwood Emerson (Angela); four grandchildren, Claire Kendall, Madison Kendall, Phillip Emerson and Cameron Emerson; and one brother, Ellwood Watkin Lewis (Barbara).
The family would like to thank all of Mrs. Emerson’s sitters and the Heritage House staff.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or The Alzheimer’s Association.
