Hilda Fulgham Peay

Hilda Fulgham Peay of Cary died Friday, March 16, 2018, at the Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 79.
Hilda lived in Northeast Missississippi until 1975 when her family moved to the Hattiesburg area. In 1977, they settled in the Delta, where they remained until her death.
Hilda was active in church activities, playing the organ, teach and GA’s. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.
Hilda was involved in the Writing to Read program at Rolling Fork Elementary School, which she truly enjoyed, and was employed there until the program ended and she retired to be a full time homemaker. She was much loved by all.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Champion and Ila Reed Fulgham; her brothers, Loyce Fulgham, Leon Fulgham, Doyle Fulgham, Morris Fulgham and Gerald Fulgham; her sisters, Hazel Fulgham, Mavis Betts and Joyce Shurden; her son, Jesse Wayne Peay; her daughter, Janet Peay McKee Holmes; her granddaughter, Alicia Michelle Peay Vega; her grandson, Dustin Wade Peay and her great-grandson, David Ray (D.J.) Williams, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jesse A. Peay; her two sons, Michael Eugene (Gail) Peay and Charles Anthony (Tony) Peay and her daughter, Robbie Peay (Dave) Duncan; her grandchildren, Angela Hope (Aubrey) Clarke, Henry Isaac (Tara) Holmes, Christopher Wayne (Geidy) Peay, Michael Wayne (Amanda) Peay, Mary Nicole Peay, Heather Leanne (Josh) Earls, Ashley Elizabeth Peay and Cassidy Marie Willis; her great-grandchildren, Holden Holmes, Tiffany Clarke, Maggie Grace Earls, Sophia Peay, Nicolas Peay, William Peay, Wesley Peay, Devin Vega, Kaelynn Vega, Amice Peay, Ryan Peay, Brooklyn Peay and Lexi Peay.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Cary Baptist Church with visitation beginning at Noon. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in the Pheba Cemetery in Pheba, Mississippi. Pallbearers will be Mike Peay, Dave Duncan, Chris Peay, Michael Peay, Isaac Holmes and Josh Earls.
