Jo Ann Burke

Jo Ann Burke died Thursday, March 22, 2018, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center. She was 75.
A native of Leavenworth, Kansas, she had made her home in Vicksburg for the past 29 years. She retired in 1995 from the Waterways Experiment Station as a purchasing agent. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gladys Yates Cook and a brother, Roy Cook.
Survivors include her husband, William Burke, Sr. of Vicksburg; her three sons, Darwin (Deanna) Burke of Vicksburg, William (Beth) Burke, Jr. of Shawnee, Kansas and Louis (Micheline) Burke of Raleigh, N.C.; her brother, William (Brenda) Cook of Lenexa, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Glenwood Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
