Vendors will once again line the streets around the Old Courthouse in downtown Vicksburg for the annual spring flea market.
The spring market will take place April 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The biannual flea market serves as a fundraiser for the Old Courthouse Museum and will attract thousands of visitors to downtown Vicksburg to shop, eat and enjoy a spring day outdoors.
“It is going to run on Cherry, Jackson, Monroe and Grove streets,” museum director Bubba Bolm said.
Bolm said they already have more than 100 vendors signed up, but still have more room for additional arts and crafts vendors. Each booth costs $60 and vendors can reserve a spot by visiting oldcourthouse.org or by calling the museum at 601- 636-0741.
“There is going to be jewelry, clothes, backed items,” Bolm said. “There’s going to be a few political booths with people running for office. There will be wooden furniture, swings, yard art and there is going to be a lady there selling guinea pigs.”
The flea market has taken place annually for 36 years. The main market is in October, but Bolm said they brought back the spring market in April a couple years ago.
“We are talking about a full square of city blocks so we’ve got some spots available,” Bolm said. “No food booths available, but there are arts and crafts available.
“We just started April up a few years back again after many years. I would say probably about 3,000 people will come.”
