Michael Anthony Newton entered into eternal rest on March 31, 2018, at his home with family present.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Clara Louise Stricklin Newton; his sons, Michael Kevin Newton and wife, Schantell Griffin Newton, George Robert Newton and wife, Misty Dawn Whittington Newton; seven grandchildren, Dylan Taylor Silverthorne, Kirsten Nicole Prewitt and husband, Steven Glenn Prewitt, William Blake Newton, Samuel Dakota Newton, Kassidey Ranai Newton, Kennedi Leighe-clair Newton, Kohen Anthony Newton; and one great-grandchild, Kinsley Alavene Prewitt.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 1:30p.m. at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, La.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Silverthorne, Samuel Williams, Darrow Fields, Samuel Rainwater, Jason Pruett and Lonnie Morris.
