After a scoreless fifth inning, things heated up in the sixth when the Flashes were able to tack an extra five runs onto their lead.

A Phillips single sent two runners home to start the surge. Josh Collins singled to left to score another, and an error and a walk taken by Thomas Trichell added two more to the Flashes total.

Phillips finished with one hit, three RBIs and two runs scored. Ethan Parmegiani was 3-for-4 with one RBI, and Collins and Tyler Breithaupt each had one hit and one RBI.

The pitching star of the game for the Flashes was Breithaupt, who manned the mound for six innings, striking out six while only walking one and allowing just two hits.

St. Al and Riverfield will play again Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Bazinsky Field. St. Al can clinch a berth in the MAIS Class AAA playoffs with a victory.
