Vincent Samuel “Sonny” Muffuletto died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He was 72.

Sonny was born in Sacramento, Calif., in 1945 and was raised in Vicksburg.

He graduated from St. Aloysius High School and attended Hinds Junior College. He spent his career traveling the world as a sales leader, returning to Vicksburg and retiring in 2013.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent S. Muffuletto Sr. and Marietta Russo Muffuletto.

Survivors include his children, John Vincent Muffuletto (Carmen), Gregory Girone Muffuletto (Jamie), Anthony Paul Muffuletto Sr., Nicholas Muffuletto and Andrea Muffuletto Cooper. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Trey, Spencer, Oliviah, Anthony Jr., Ashley and Gabriel. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda Muffuletto of Madison, Kay Middleton of Madison, Ron Muffuletto (Ouida) of Brandon, Marilyn

Gunnell (Brad) of McComb, Lorraine Smithhart (Bobby) of Vicksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. A private family interment will follow.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Muffeletto, Trey Muffuletto, BJ Smithhart, Ben Smithhart, Beau Muffuletto, Michael Muffuletto and Paul Muffuletto.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
