Man stabbed at convenience store

Vicksburg police are continuing their search for a man accused of stabbing another man during a fight at the Speedmart convenience store, 2320 Washington St., Tuesday night.
According to police reports, Desmond Jermaine Taylor, 27, was stabbed twice, puncturing his lung. He was taken to Merit Health River Region Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.
Police are looking for 39-year old Charles Benard “Black Eye” Scott , 39, 2532 Oak St. in connection with the stabbing, which occurred about 9:47 p.m. Tuesday in the store parking lot.
Officers responding to a call about a stabbing at the convenience store were told Taylor left on foot with another man. The officers walked in the area of Speed and Marshall streets where they found Taylor lying in street.
Police learned Taylor got into a fight with Scott in the convenience store parking lot and Scott pulled a knife, stabbed Taylor twice, then ran from the area on foot.

• The resident of a home in the 300 block of Azalea Lane, reported about 3:28 p.m. Friday she found a bullet hole in a windowsill of her home. She told police she had heard shots being fired the night before.
Vicksburg police made the following arrests between Friday and Sunday:
• Carol Lynn Grimmett, 21, 50 Catfish Alley, Eagle Lake, was arrested about 2:49 p.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of first-offense shoplifting.
• Warrants were served Sunday on Brad Kintrell King, 33, 1004 Howard St.
• Deanna Michelle Howard, 23, 450 China Grove Road, was arrested about 11:39 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Clay Street and Mission 66 on charges of having no proof of insurance, having a suspended driver’s license, giving false information to police, speeding, and two counts of contempt of court.
• Jordan Tyler Martin, 26, 520 Berryman Road, was arrested about 10:32 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Washington and Grove streets on charges of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
• Darryl Dewayne Harris, 39, 215 Enchanted Hills Road, was arrested about 10:26 p.m. in the 200 block of Enchanted Drive on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
• Delesha McCoy, 28, 909 South Elm St., Tallulah, Louisiana, was arrested about 9:56 p.m. on Clay Street on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
• Robert Andrew Screws, 19, 4301 Windsor Point, was arrested about 8:57 p.m. at the intersection of Washington and Clay streets on charged of underage possession of alcohol and using a false ID to purchase alcohol.
• Antolio Terrell Miller, 30, 1001 First East St., was arrested about 8:06 p.m. at the intersection of First East and Walnut streets on a charge of contempt of court.
• Marquita Nicole Promise, 233 Demby Drive, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the 4300 block of Halls Ferry Road on a charge of first-offense shoplifting.
• Warrants were served Friday on Brian Elliott Darden, 46, 1233 Harrison St.
• Kevin Earl Sanders, 34, 430 Burnt House Road, was arrested about 3:57 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on charges of second-offense shoplifting and trespassing. He was also served with a warrant.
• Joseph Peter Edmond, 30, 1950 Hope St. 6-C, was arrested about 12:47 p.m. Friday on charges of having no proof of insurance and driving with a suspended license. He was also served with two warrants.
• A warrant was served Friday on Darren Antonyo Mazie, 33, 3062 Wisconsin Ave.
• A warrant was served Friday on Melody Latwan Stewart, 39, 904 Blossom Lane C-3.

• Police Monday arrested a Vicksburg man on a Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant.
Henry Earl Armstead, 34, 2418 Halls Ferry Road, was arrested about 12:12 p.m. Monday at the Vicksburg Police Department on the MDOC warrant charging him with probation violation. Armstead also faces two counts of theft from a vehicle.
In other cases:
• A Victoria’s Secret purse with clothing, a makeup kit, two bottles of body spray and prescription drugs were reported taken about 10:51 a.m. Tuesday from a 2015 Nissan Altima parked in the1600 block of Chambers Street.
•Shots were reported fired about 10:56 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Harrison and First North streets.
• Shots were reported fired about 12:29 p.m. Tuesday in the area of National and Third streets.
• Shots were reported fired about 1:42 p.m. Monday in the area of Oak and Lee streets.
• Shots were reported fired about 2:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of National Street.
• A generator and rotary hammer were reported taken about 4:26 p.m. Monday from a storage unit at Centrex Storage, 705 Centrex Drive.
• A total of $3,427 in purchases were reported made with a stolen credit card Monday from several stores in the area of Pemberton Square Boulevard and U.S. 61 South. The case is under investigation.
• A 2006 Dodge Stratus was reported taken Monday about 2:26 p.m. from the off ramp of Halls Ferry Road-Interstate 20 off ramp. The car’s owner said it had broken down and he left it on the shoulder of the ramp. When he returned, the car was gone.
• A .45-caliber Colt handgun and a 9 mm Keltek handgun were reported taken about 6:18 p.m. Monday from a 2008 Ford F-250 parked at the Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St.
