A man wanted in connection with the Tuesday night stabbing of another man at a Washington Street convenience store has turned himself in to Vicksburg police, Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.
Charles Benard “Black Eye” Scott III, 39, 2532 Oak St., turned himself in Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Vicksburg Police Department. He is being held without bail at the Issaquena County Corrections Facility pending an initial appearance Friday in Municipal Court.
He faces a charge of aggravated assault in the stabbing of Desmond Jermaine Taylor, 27, during a fight at the Speedmart convenience store, 2320 Washington St.
Taylor was stabbed twice, puncturing his lung. He was taken to Merit Health River Region Medical Center. Information on his condition was unavailable Thursday.
