Clear Creek Ladies report

On Wednesday, Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association members enjoyed individual stroke play. The Flight A winner was Carol Roberson. Emily Bonelli and Beth Jones won Flights B and C, respectively. Roberson logged the day’s lowest putting score.

On April 18, Charlotte Crist hit a hole-in-one on the par-3, 169-yard fourth hole at Clear Creek Golf Course.

On April 25, Pat Chambers made his first hole in one. It also was on the fourth hole, using a 5 iron. His witnesses were Tommy Brown and Wanda Brown.

MSU Road Dawgs Tour

Mississippi State’s Road Dawgs 2018 Tour will make a stop at the Vicksburg Convention Center on May 10. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $15 and includes lunch. The featured speaker will be new Mississippi State football coach Joe Moorhead.

MSU golf tournament

The 28th annual Paul Geer Memorial Bulldog Classic Scholarship Golf Tournament is set for May 16 at the Vicksburg Country Club. Registration begins at noon, and the tournament at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $95 per player or $380 for a four-person team, and single players are welcome.

Kings basketball jamboree
The Kings Empowerment Center will host the Basketball Summer Warm-up Jamboree on May 19 beginning at 9 a.m.. The tournament is for boys and girls teams in grades 5-12. Each team is guaranteed two games, and the entry fee is $80 per team. Admission for fans is $5, o $3 for children 18 and under. Malcolm Butler Football Camp

Registration is open until April 30 for the Malcolm Butler Football Camp.

The camp will be held July 14 at Vicksburg High School’s Memorial Stadium. There are 200 slots for first- through sixth-graders in the Malcolm & Me Camp, and 300 spots for seventh- through 12th-graders in The Malcolm Butler Junior High and High School Football Camp.

The camp is free, but registration is available online only, at malcolmbutlerfootballcamp.org.

Learn to swim class

Vicksburg City Pool will hold registration for the American Red Cross’ Learn to Swim program, May 16-18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, and from 10 a.m. to noon on May 19. All registration must be done in person at City Pool and is on a first come, first served basis.

The classes provide low-cost swim lessons to children and adults of all ages. Children must be at least 3 years old to participate. The cost is $15 per student for each 10-day session.

The sessions will run from June 4-15, June 25 to July 6, and July 16-27. For more information, call Sylvia Gurtowski at 601-634-4516.
