A man died Sunday afternoon at Merit Health River Region Medical Center after suffering multiple gunshot wounds early Sunday morning.

Vicksburg Police Department Sgt. Jonnie Edwards said VPD responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of South St. around 4:20 a.m. Sunday. When units arrived, they found that the home had been shot multiple times.

Inside the home, VPD found a 21 year-old man who had been shot multiple times.

Cortez Denzel Hardy was transported to River Region for treatment and died around 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Edwards said. No arrests have been made, but Edwards said they believe there may have been two shooters involved.

“Vicksburg Police is asking for the public’s help in locating and identifying the suspects in this shooting,” Edwards said.
