We appreciate the dedicated work of teachers and nurses

This past week marked both Teacher Appreciation Week and Nurses Appreciation Week.

Whether they work in a public or private school or teach at Alcorn or Hinds in Vicksburg, these men and women have found it to be their calling to mold the next generation.

They take time before and after school, spend their own money on their students and give their all to the children they teach.

Much like teaching, nursing can often be a thankless position, but Warren County and Vicksburg are blessed to have dedicated nurses working at the hospital, nursing homes, doctors’ offices and home health services in the community.

The men and women who have chosen to make these two professions their life’s works are deserving of praise so we would like to thank those in Warren County who teach and work as nurses.

It is teachers who help make us the people we are by educating us, caring for us and helping us to grow.

Nurses are often the first line of care and pay a pivotal role in caring for those in need.

If you know a teacher or a nurse, take a moment and thank him or her for the work they do. Shake their hand, clap them on the back and thank them for a job well done and for entering these fields.
