Funeral services for Gloria G. Evans-Dillon will be Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Jackson Street M.B. Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Trollars Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge.
There will be a visitation hour Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.
Gloria Evans-Dillon passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Merit Health River Region following a sudden illness. She was 87.
She was a retired teacher and director for the Mississippi Action for Progress. She was a member of the Jackson Street M.B. Church, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Elite Civic Club and a lifetime member of the Pretty Me Tea Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Geneva Warfield Evans Sr.; her daughter, Jonetta Dillon; and her sister, Doris Nelson.
She is survived by her son, John Dillon Jr. of Vicksburg; her five daughters, Debra Howard, Yvette Dillon, both of Vicksburg, Demaris Dillon of Fairfield Calif., Hope Adams Evans and Valtrise Adams Evans, both of Southaven; her brother, Alvie Evans Jr. of Euclid, Ohio; and her sister, Rosie Lee Smith of Riverside, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
