The Ole Miss baseball team let Alabama tie up their final regular season series of the year on Friday night, falling 3-0 to the Crimson Tide in what was a pitcher’s duel for most of the game.

In the bottom of the sixth, Alabama junior Keith Holcombe put the first run on the board when he stole home on a double steal.

Then, heading into the eighth inning, Alabama was only up 1-0, but Chandler Taylor hit an RBI double and Hunter Alexander followed that up with a sacrifice fly. Tyler Keenan managed to get a single for the Rebels, but a groundout and two strikeouts closed out the game for the Crimson Tide.

Ole Miss pitcher Brady Feigl turned in his second stellar outing in a row, throwing five innings and allowing six hits and only one earned run, he walked two batters and struck out six. Houston Roth came in as a reliever and struggled, giving up two earned runs, walking two batters and striking out two. Greer Holston faced two batters, striking out one and allowing one hit.

For Alabama, Jake Walters threw a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

At the plate, Grae Kessinger, Will Golsan, Keenan and Chase Cockrell all had hits for the Rebels, with Cockrell sending a double to center field. For Alabama, Chandler Avant and Connor Short both had two hits, and Holcombe, Sam Praytor and Taylor each had hits.

Ole Miss won game one of the series 3-2 on Thursday. The teams clash again Saturday at 1 p.m. as Ole Miss fights for the top spot in the SEC West.
