City Pool opens Monday
Vicksburg City Pool will open to the public on Monday, from 1 to 5 p.m., and will be open daily through the summer.
The daily schedule will include a recreational swim period from 1 to 5 p.m.; and lap swimming on weekdays from 6 to 8:30 a.m., noon to 1 p.m., and 5 to 6 p.m. beginning June 4.
Beginning June 4, there will be evening swim programs from 6 to 8 p.m., or 6:45 to 8 p.m. during swim lesson weeks. Family swim time will be Monday and Friday; senior swim for ages 50 and older on Tuesday and Thursday; Tot-Time for ages 7 and under (accompanied by a parent or guardian) on Wednesday; and swim team practice on Wednesday.
Daily admission to City Pool is $4 for adults over 12, and $2 for children. Individual season passes are available for $40 and family passes are $120.
All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult guardian ages 18 or over, and proper swimsuits are required for all swimming patrons.
WC baseball camp
Warren Central will host its annual youth baseball camp June 11-14 at Viking Field.
The camp is for children ages 5-14, and focuses on teaching baseball fundamentals and sportsmanship through various drills and games. Instructors include Warren Central coaches and players.
The cost is $100 per camper. Registration is at the WC baseball fieldhouse from 7:30 to a.m. on Tuesday, May 29. The camp will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day.
Players should bring cleats, shorts, T-shirt, tennis shoes, a baseball glove, sunscreen, towel and change of clothes on Friday. The final day of the camp includes sliding drills on a wet tarp.

Clear Creek Ladies report
Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association members met this week for individual stroke play. The first flight winner was Emily Bonelli, who also had the lowest putting score. Mary May won the second flight, and Beth Jones won the third flight.
Star-Spangled Night Run
The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation will present the first Star Spangled Night Run on June 30 in downtown Vicksburg. The 5K run and walk will begin at 8 p.m., and the start-finish line will be at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center.
Registration is now open. The fee is $30 for adults or $15 for children 12 and under. Entry forms and information are available by visiting southernculture.org/events, or by calling 601-631-2997 or emailing info@southernculture.org.
Entry forms and fees can be dropped off at SCHF Business Office, 601 Sports or mailed to SCHF, 1302 Adams Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. Online registration is available at RaceRoster.com.
Race packet pick-up will be June 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the SCHF Auditorium on the corner of Crawford and Cherry Streets, and also before the race at the race site starting at 6 p.m.
