Tammie Louise Mason

Tammie Louise Mason passed away peacefully at her home Friday, June 15, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. She was 50 years old.

Tammie was born May 9, 1968, in Vicksburg to Charles Holmes Sr. and Aola Mason.

Tammie was a graduate of Vicksburg High School Class of 1986. She continued her education at Hinds Junior College, earning her licensed practical nurse (LPN) license. After continuing her education, in 2005, she received her registered nurse (RN) license and started her employment with Vicksburg Convalescent Home, where she was the wound care coordinator. In 2017, she received her bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). At the time of her death, Tammie was pursuing her master’s in nursing at Kaplan University.

Tammie is survived by her children, Tameria and Patrick Richardson of Vicksburg; her mother, Aola G. Mason; her father, Charles Holmes Sr.; four sisters, Deloris Lewis of Gulfport, Jackie Cobbins and Juliette (Dwayne) Washington of Vicksburg, and Carolyn (Durron) Moore of Jackson; five brothers, Allen (Pat) Mason III of Rolling Fork, Garry Mason of West Palm Beach, Fla; Charles Holmes Jr., Kelvin (Angela) Hanger and Abdual Lovett, all of Vicksburg.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Grove M.B. Church. Interment will be Zollinger’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018, from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at CJ Williams Mortuary Services.
