People looking for a new alternative to eating healthier now have the chance with the opening of Overdrive Nutrition, located at 3516 Manor Drive next to Wyatts Gym.

“Our goal is to make the world happier and healthier,” said Cassie Smith, who co-owns Overdrive Nutrition with her husband, PJ Smith. “We decided to open a nutrition club in Vicksburg because we saw a need and also a want. Plus, it’s my hometown.”

Overdrive Nutrition, which opened June 2, offers a wide variety of smoothies, shakes and energy teas.

Some of those loaded teas include Skittles, Captain America, Watermelon Jolly Rancher, Mermaid, Pineapple Paradise, Bahama Mama, Gummy Bear, and Sour Patch Kids. Shakes include Funfetti, Payday, Lemon Ice Box, Chocolate Caramel Cappuccino, Snickers and Butterfinger.

“We also offer weight loss programs, gain weight programs, and/or just total nutrition programs,” Cassie Smith. “We absolutely love what we do.”

She said the response from the community has been overwhelming since they opened their doors just over a month ago.

“The town of Vicksburg has been so great, welcoming and thankful since we opened,” Smith said. “A lot of people want a healthy option. The options haven’t been there, but now they are. We have been overwhelmed with the love and support we have received and we look forward to helping and serving the area for a long time.”

Overdrive Nutrition is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. They’re closed on Sundays.
