Six Vicksburg police officers received promotions Wednesday during a ceremony at the City Hall Annex.
Investigations commander Johnnie Edwards and NET team commander Jeff Merritt were both promoted from sergeant to lieutenant, while uniformed officers Kathryn Trueheart, Claude Billings, Jaclyn Pendleton and Dwayne Smith were promoted to sergeant.
“All of these officers have a lot of experience and are hard workers,” Police Chief Milton Moore said after the ceremony. “In order to be a professional and progress in your career, you have to love what you do. These officers deserve these promotions.”
