Man out on bond for murder back behind bars

A Vicksburg man out on bond for murder has been charged with receiving stolen property after his arrest Tuesday night during a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Halls Ferry Road.
Jimmy Dale Reid, 41, 1748 Old Highway 27, is charged with possession of stolen property after a records check indicated the Ford F-150 he was driving was reported stolen from Baton Rouge, La. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond, and has a hold placed on him by the Warren County District Attorney’s office.
District Attorney Ricky Smith said a motion has been filed in circuit court to revoke Reid’s bond on the murder charge involving a 2015 shooting in which a man was killed.
According to police reports, an officer stopped the truck Reid was driving about 8:53 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Halls Ferry. Reid jumped out of the truck and ran into a nearby wooded area. He was later found by the officer with assistance of Warren County sheriff’s deputy Dustin Key and his K-9 Heidi.
Heidi also found methamphetamine in the truck, resulting in the arrest of Shelby Leigh McKnight, 23, 110 Stockton Drive on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. She was released on $5,000 bond.
In other cases:
• A man reported about 12:03 p.m. that a woman tried to set fire to his wheelchair. No arrests have been made and the case is under investigation.
• A pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses valued at $250, white gold diamond earrings valued at $500, a gold diamond engagement ring valued at $500, and $45 were reported taken about 5:01 a.m. from a home in the 1400 block of Chambers Street.
• A refrigerator and stove were reported taken about 10:24 a.m. Tuesday from a home in the 1000 block of National Street.
• A table was reported taken about 4:53 p.m. Tuesday from vacant house in the in the 1900 block of Baldwin Ferry Road.
