Warren County authorities are waiting on a toxicology report from the Mississippi State Crime Lab to determine the cause of death of Jimmy “Bo” Cogan II, 39, whose body was found in the front yard of a home Wednesday on Burnt House Road.
Coroner Doug Huskey released Cogan’s identity Saturday morning.
“The autopsy report from the state Forensic Lab indicated no injuries were found on the body,” Sheriff Martin Pace said. “We should have the toxicology report soon.”
Cogan’s body was found by the family who lives in the home.
According to sheriff’s department reports, deputies responding to a 911 call about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday from a resident of the home, who said the family returned home Wednesday morning to find a light green SUV pulling a trailer parked in their yard and several people standing outside.
After the family pulled into the drive, the people got in the SUV and drove off. When they looked in the yard they saw what they thought was a person lying in the yard near where the SUV had been standing. When they went to look and found the man, they called authorities.
Deputies and paramedics responding to the call were unable to revive the man, and he was declared dead at the scene by Huskey.
