Odesta Shy, formerly of Vicksburg, died Aug. 22, 2018, in Chicago. She was 79.

A high school and college graduate, she relocated to Chicago in 1960 and served as a social worker for the Department of Human Services for 44 years. She loved to socialize and shop. She was a much loved sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother and will be dearly missed.

The beloved wife of John D. Campbell, a union of 47 years, she leaves behind six children, Donna, Michael, Deborah, Patrick, Kenyatta and Zanetta; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be held in Chicago.
