Funeral services for Alfred Lee Barnes are to be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Mount Zion #1 M. B. Church at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Johnny Williams officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. There will be a visitation hour held on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Alfred Lee Barnes passed away on Thursday, Sept. 13, in the Promise Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 67. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of King David #2 M. B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Hart, and his brother, Michael Hart.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Barnes of Vicksburg; his son, Alfred Lee Barnes Jr. of Vicksburg; his daughter, Cortney Nicole Barnes of Vicksburg; his two brothers, Ernest Allen of Vicksburg and James Allen, Jr. of Waxahachie, Texas; his sister, Linda Blackmore of Vicksburg, and one grandchild.
