Local teen facing two counts of aggravated assault

Vicksburg police have arrested a 17-year-old on two counts of aggravated assault involving an Oct. 14 incident in which shots were fired into a vehicle at Bowmar Avenue and Yerger Street.
Lt. Johnnie Edwards said Dapeytric Cordele Coleman, 1234 East Ave., was arrested Sunday at his home. He said police responding to a disturbance call at the house arrested him after the warrants showed up on a records check. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
Coleman is accused of shooting at the car with a handgun and hitting it. The two men inside the car were not wounded, Edwards said.

• Shots were reported fired about 3:13 a.m. Monday at Court and East Magnolia streets.
• Shots were reported fired about 7:09 p.m. Sunday in the 60 block of Eisenhower Drive.
• A $20 counterfeit bill was reported passed about 12:30 p.m. Sunday at WaterView Casino, 3990 Washington Street.
• Shots were reported fired about 12:42 a.m. Sunday at 1205 China St.
• A Nissan Altima was parked at the Beechwood Apartments, 201 Berryman Road, was reported ransacked about 8:35 p.m. Sunday. Nothing was reported missing.
• A man reported four other men assaulted him and stole $20 about 11:48 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Chick-fil-A, 3403 Halls Ferry Road.
• A .40-caliber Glock Model 22 handgun valued at $300 and a Michael Kors purse valued at $69 and containing $25 and credit and debit cards were reported taken about 12:01 p.m. Saturday from a Toyota Camry parked a the Vicksburg Mall, 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd.
• A green Husqvarna golf cart valued at $5,000 was reported taken Friday from AmeriCorps, 2715 Confederate Ave.
• Two men attempted to pass a forged check for $4,648 at Guaranty Bank. The men left after the teller began questioning them about the check.
